In this fun non-technical multi-day workshop participants will gain proficiency in the camera and visual storytelling crafts. Beyond proper camera operation and set up, the workshop will focus primarily on story - the conduit through which all creative and technical decisions flow. The many hands-on exercises conducted in teams will offer students effective practice in use of close-ups, unusual angles and the application of the “exclusion” principle. Cameras will be available for use during the workshop, or participants may choose to bring their own.
Who Should Attend:
The emphasis on crafting a compelling visual story makes this workshop invaluable for aspiring producers, directors, actors and screenwriters, looking to gain a greater understanding of the craft of the cinematographer and effective storytelling with a camera. Participants should preferably have some previous experience in film and television - in the corporate, education, non-profit, news, or cinema arenas, but it is not imperative.
Program continues daily through Friday, Sept 2nd. Space is VERY limited.
